This is our vision, where we hope to be…
By the spring of 2013 (subject to all approvals and consents):
- the Invicta statue is completed during 2012 as part of the region’s Royal Jubilee celebrations, standing in recognition and celebration of Kent’s rich and diverse culture
- and is beginning to be established as a significant visitor attraction, giving impetus and confidence to others to develop further the tourism offer in east Kent and the plans and activities for regeneration in and around Dover and district
- the welfare and education programmes are delivering solutions and actions to relieve need
- events and individual-giving schemes are bringing in worthwhile cost-effective and durable income streams
- the charity and its statue is recognised as a force for good in Kent
- there is an enhanced feeling of pride and ownership
Invicta means undefeated or unconquered, standing for defiance against aggression. The Invicta statue will stand in an area which was at the forefront of the country’s defences in times of war and conflict when the eyes of the country were on the cliffs at Dover.
